December 27, 2025 - Saturday


We drove out to DE today and the trip went really smoothly. We left the house around 7:15am, stopped at Dunkin' and were on our way. We stopped thrice: potty break, lunch pick up (and eat in car), then another potty break. It took us just over 7h 30m! Not bad at all. Ben drove the whole way. He got a little sleepy at one point, but I found this cool history podcast and the story kept him awake. 

We got to dad and MJ's at 3:30ish, got unpacked, and hung out, catching up. Skyla dropped Zayden off, and Zach and his girlfriend Adrianne came over for a couple of hours in the evening. The poor guy is just so angry. He had a really rough childhood and his dad died way too young, but he just carries around so much hate and rage that I worry it will push everyone that he cares about away from him. How long can his girlfriend last with a guy like him? She seems very well-adjusted, super close with her parents, still lives at home, went to college, has a great job as an RN. What is she doing with Zach? I mean, I want it to work, but I don't want him to traumatize the poor girl. He just doesn't seem to be working toward healing at all and my heart breaks for him.

What a day! It literally rained from start to finish, but we packed as much into it as we possibly could! We had a great time visiting and hanging out. We had a fire and lots of great meals *brushes shoulder off*. The kids played well together and, as far as I know, there wasn't any drama! It was a bit exhausting, but I'm so glad that this retreat went well. Last year's was a bit of a bomb, with all the childcare drama happening behind the scenes. I feel like last year's retreat was a pre-cursor to our deciding to move away. Not that they actually had anything to do with one another, but they happened in such close succession that they seem related in retrospect. I drank a bit too much tonight and had a really fun time singing songs, while Tony played the guitar. Man, I wish I had talent with instruments!

February 28, 2026 - Saturday

I can't believe I had to do it, but I texted the Browns to let them know that a few of us have colds again. So annoying! And frustrating! It felt awful to cancel on them again. We ended up not doing too much. I went on a date with Jonas to Polaris that took up most of the day, it felt like. We were there to get him new Crocs, but we ended up shopping at lots of different stores and got food too. It was comfortable and fun to hang out with him. I just wish Tuttle wasn't such a lost cause nowadays! I would have loved to have that same date, but closer to home.  In the afternoon, Ruby and I went out for a bit. She really wanted to get ice cream, which made it pretty easy. I always feel like I need to match dates, if that makes sense. Like, Jonas got several hours and a trip to the mall, so it feels like Ruby should get the same. But she literally just wanted ice cream. So we went to DQ and pigged out for a bit, then headed back home. I tried to explain what I read in the book this...

November 9, 2025 - Sunday

This is my favorite picture from the whole shoot!! I love it.  We went to CT this morning and I actually got to sit in on the teaching! Woo! It feels like that doesn't happen very often. We hung out in the cafe with friends for a little bit, then went to Chipotle for lunch on the way home.  We spent most of the day just relaxing! I started a photo book for our Maine vaca in September, and tried to get caught up with some other stuff, but it was mostly just a chill day. Jonas and Clem went to group and we stayed home, chillin'. Ben and I got in the hot tub with Ruby and Ollie for a little while, which was fun. It was snowing while we were in there!
