January 13, 2026 - Tuesday


This morning, I got to lay in bad a little longer than usual since it was a Wild & Free day. We headed over to Anne's for our "Winter Celebration" and I was so grateful that she hosted! It was nice for the moms to be able to sit on couches and visit with each other, rather than standing around in the freezing cold. Sadly, our time ended very badly. Anne's dog, Silas, BIT Ollie on the hand when she went to pet him and broke through her skin, so she ran into the house screaming and bleeding. Thankfully, it wasn't as bad as it first appeared to be, but there wasn't much that Anne could do to make Ollie OR me feel better about what happened. She checked on Ollie and offered her first aid, which Ollie refused. She put Silas into a back room, but Ollie was so terrified that she didn't want to leave the bathroom, so I had to usher her and the other girls out right after the incident. Anne, of course, felt terrible and now Ben is talking about reporting the dog or something? IDK. It's a mess, but Ollie will be fine very quickly and I don't think it's anything worth pursuing in any way. She's our friend and her dog did something sucky. It may affect how often we go to visit though, unless she's willing to put the pup away while we're there. I just don't know if Ollie will be up for going back.

Today is slightly less busy than most of my other days, so I spent most of the afternoon doing laundry, cleaning the house, and working on the stinking wallpaper, which is SUCH a huge pita!!!!

At night, I went to book club at the Wine Bistro in Upper Arlington. It was a decent time. Haha sadly, I don't have much to say about it. Rachel and Megan were there, along with 8 other ladies. Conversation was fine, but not anything too exciting. I honestly couldn't wait to get out of there! I found out that a bunch of the HC folks who work in Cbus got together for lunch today...the same group that Ben originally started this lunch idea for! So. I am torn now. Do I tell Ben he got uninvited from his own lunch thing? Or keep it to myself because I know it'll be hurtful.

What a day! It literally rained from start to finish, but we packed as much into it as we possibly could! We had a great time visiting and hanging out. We had a fire and lots of great meals *brushes shoulder off*. The kids played well together and, as far as I know, there wasn't any drama! It was a bit exhausting, but I'm so glad that this retreat went well. Last year's was a bit of a bomb, with all the childcare drama happening behind the scenes. I feel like last year's retreat was a pre-cursor to our deciding to move away. Not that they actually had anything to do with one another, but they happened in such close succession that they seem related in retrospect. I drank a bit too much tonight and had a really fun time singing songs, while Tony played the guitar. Man, I wish I had talent with instruments!

February 28, 2026 - Saturday

I can't believe I had to do it, but I texted the Browns to let them know that a few of us have colds again. So annoying! And frustrating! It felt awful to cancel on them again. We ended up not doing too much. I went on a date with Jonas to Polaris that took up most of the day, it felt like. We were there to get him new Crocs, but we ended up shopping at lots of different stores and got food too. It was comfortable and fun to hang out with him. I just wish Tuttle wasn't such a lost cause nowadays! I would have loved to have that same date, but closer to home.  In the afternoon, Ruby and I went out for a bit. She really wanted to get ice cream, which made it pretty easy. I always feel like I need to match dates, if that makes sense. Like, Jonas got several hours and a trip to the mall, so it feels like Ruby should get the same. But she literally just wanted ice cream. So we went to DQ and pigged out for a bit, then headed back home. I tried to explain what I read in the book this...

November 9, 2025 - Sunday

This is my favorite picture from the whole shoot!! I love it.  We went to CT this morning and I actually got to sit in on the teaching! Woo! It feels like that doesn't happen very often. We hung out in the cafe with friends for a little bit, then went to Chipotle for lunch on the way home.  We spent most of the day just relaxing! I started a photo book for our Maine vaca in September, and tried to get caught up with some other stuff, but it was mostly just a chill day. Jonas and Clem went to group and we stayed home, chillin'. Ben and I got in the hot tub with Ruby and Ollie for a little while, which was fun. It was snowing while we were in there!
