I went over Jenny's to read today and decided to bring my camera with me, just to get a new location and some fresh "subjects" to shoot. I'm so glad that I did! Jenny chooses such rich tones for her wall colors, she decorates beautifully, and all of the plants are so pretty too. And there seems to be great natural light coming in through every window. Just a much more photogenic house! If you look closely, you can see that all 8 of us are in these two photos. :) I actually got quite a few pictures that I really like, but I'll have to save some of them for a rainy day. I still have plenty of beach pictures to work on and some more tea party pictures to post too.
I started going through that e-class that I signed up for last night. It's pretty inspiring for me, because the photographer who made it does family documentary photography...which is kind of what I do! I just want to be better at it. She had lots of great ideas for keeping things fresh and looking at your surroundings with a new perspective. I'm excited to take some of those ideas and apply them to my family. I really do love to document our lives. I have a tiny bit of interest in photographing other people, but I don't want to direct anyone or pose anyone. I want to find the beauty in the everyday and capture THAT. Because our everyday lives are SO beautiful, so full of blessings, magic, humor, light, and color. I want to be the fly on the wall that gets to witness and record all that good stuff, without fake smiles plastered on and without all the fancy clothes (although there is definitely a place for that! I'm just not the photographer for it.). haha Not much of a business model, but who knows what the future might bring.
