April 16, 2025 - Wednesday
Today was a little too crazy for my liking. Me and the kids started work on the academic fair this morning and then Jenny came over around 9:30 to hang out and read. The kids were all waiting for me to finish with her so I could work with them one-on-one, but by the time I was done, it occurred to me that I might not have time to work with them at all! I had to get everything packed and had a couple of errands to run, on top of endless chores, and ferrying the older two around to activities. I needed to drop Jonas off at the movie theater at 12, which I did manage to do in time. He was going to see Minecraft (again) with his friends and he was so, so very excited. On the way back from dropping him off, I stopped at Giant Eagle to grab some dinner supplies and things that I need to bring to DE for Saturday's party. By the time I got home, I really just didn't have a lot of time for academic fair boards at all, but Ruby was waiting patiently for me, so I sat down with her for 15 minutes or so. We're just going to have to find another time to work on this next week! I feel sad because I know it's really important to her that it looks nice and is organized, but she isn't quite ready, maturity-wise, to execute her vision yet and I'm not available to her today like she wants me to be. *sigh* I'll make sure to prioritize it early next week.
I spent some time packing and prepping and then Ben took Jonas and Clemi to their first VBS drama team rehearsal! Praise the Lord! They had a great time, and I was so grateful that Ben took them and just hung out for the two hours, so I could get everything packed...which I did! I made grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner and then spent over an hour in Canva with Jonas, designing his Entrepreneurship class's flyer assignment that he (and I) totally forgot about. That was actually really fun, but stressful because of the timing. Poor Jonas was freaking out all day, aside from his friend time, about his to co-op class assignments that he hadn't completed because of poor time management. Then we had to spend a half hour working through all of those sad/mad/upset/anxious feelings. Today was just a lot. We head out to DE tomorrow, right after co-op!
* I bought these matching jackets at Old Navy for $4.97 apiece yesterday! They're all very excited about them. :)
