Our first day of this short trip to DE! We spent the morning with my parents and dyed Easter eggs. A little after lunch, we headed to Newark and I dropped the boys off and then headed down to Seaford to see Lena for a bit. It's the first time I've been to her house! And she moved in 5 years ago. Shame on me. Anyway, she told me it was an hour and 20 minutes away from Newark, but it took me two hours to get there. I was starting to get really stressed about time! I was planning to hang out with the Boettchers in the evening and that meant (assuming an hour and 20 minute drive) that I needed to leave her house around 5:45. Well, since it took so much longer to get there, I didn't arrive until 4!!! Leaving less than two hours to hang out and FOUR hours of driving! *sigh* So sad when plans don't happen the way you hoped they would. It was a nice visit though, and the girls all said they had a great time. Lena and I really want our kids to be friends. Her son Donnie is awesome and Lola is...challenging, but obviously loving and friendly. The kids made friendship bracelets and then played outside together. Lena cooked dinner for us and it was delicious. Thankful we got to have this time, however brief!

I left her house right around 6 and the drive home was shorter than the ride there, since traffic had died down a bit. It took an hour and a half to get back to Patrick's and, honestly, I had a really wonderful time hanging out there for a couple of hours. I had a drink or two and all of us adults sat out on the deck and talked. It was great. We ended up leaving at 9:30 and then, typical for DE, we ran into some traffic and ended up having to take a detour through the city to get home! We didn't get back to dad and MJ's until after 10, so had to get the kids to bed immediately and I came up to bed pretty quickly too!
