April 29, 2025 - Tuesday
I met with Jenny this morning and we split retreat food duties up and delegated a few things to other people. I’m feeling pretty good about it! We had a good time visiting and then I did school with the kids after. There was some resentment from the kids about skipping Wild & Free, but I really need a week during which we actually finish all of our school work! The last THREE weeks have been a bust.
I spent hours figuring out stuff for the CACH yearbook in the afternoon. SUCH A PAIN!!! I planned on ordering the yearbooks from Staples. It would be close, convenient, and appeared to be very cheap! I even confirmed in person what the cost would be. Then, when I went to actually place the order, the price per yearbook was more than triple what was estimated! Way, way, way too high for most homeschool families...including mine. I had to scramble for hours to find a new printer and, unfortunately, it's looking like we won't end up getting them in time for the end of year party. I'm so disappointed and frustrated. AND I feel terrible for promising something that just might not happen now. Just super sad about this.
After all that, I got everyone ready for our various activities. Clem and Jonas went to a service project with the middle school groups, while Ben, Ruby, Ollie, and I went to the art show at LHM. Ruby was pretty proud of her work and she really did do a good job! She’s so creative. We only stayed at the art show for 45 min or so, then came home and I took a walk with the girls until it started raining. We did the same thing in the evening that we do every single night. It’s fine, but it’s getting a little old. I wish Jonas and Clem went to bed earlier so Ben and I could have more alone time together! My cold is almost completely gone, btw! Praising God that it never got too bad and didn’t last very long.
