Ah, what a nightmare I've been living through lately. I was feeling a bit better today, since the meeting with the school was over, but I got a call in the afternoon from the principal saying that they decided to file a police report, along with reporting us to Child Protective Services. I had to leave immediately after the call to go meet with the police officer and bring Clemi's tablet with me. Of course, I was in the middle of making dinner and was already stressed out of my mind about how inconsistent I've been with BrandSwan and how I have a HUGE deadline for Oasis tomorrow. BUT. Nonetheless, I headed over to the school to meet with the officer. He questioned me for about 20 minutes and then had me call Ben to bring Clemi over. Ben told me to go, and he stayed while the police questioned her. I know it shouldn't have, but this interaction pushed me over the edge. I basically couldn't stop crying for the rest of the evening. Just so overwhelming. Ben said that, when he was leaving, the cop said that from his perspective, this is over. Which is good. I was just so upset anyway. And, of course, we still have CPS to deal with, whenever they are ready.

Ollie had her first ballet class today and it really was a bright spot in this day. Honestly, there were a few bright spots, but this one was undoubtedly the cutest. She was adorable in her ballet outfit and she was such a focused, hard worker during class! I can't even handle how cute she was.

Another bright spot, which makes it very hard to imagine leaving our neighborhood, was seeing the kids play out in the cul-de-sac this afternoon. Nolan's girls were out there and so were the Albinos'. They were all playing SO nicely together! And Jonas spent an hour and a half playing basketball and talking with Nolan's older daughter, who he just met this afternoon. I'm pretty sure he's smitten, but I'm not going to push it. She is beautiful, smart, and shares many of the same interests with Jonas. I wish I hadn't had to run out and miss hanging out with the neighbors. But...that's life right now.
