July 9, 2023 - Sunday
Whew! Days off of work make me want to quit. I should be at CT right now and it feels so good to not be there. Kind of bummed I didn't give myself two Sundays off for this trip, but that's life. I didn't really need them both, just don't want to rush back a few hours after I get home from my trip.
Today was a rainy day and rainy days in Cherrystone are NO GOOD. Nobody has a big enough space to host a bunch of other people, so we basically all go our own ways until we can be outside again. In truth, it wasn't terrible. Our family sat under our canopy and on the covered porch, hanging out, watching the rain, reading, and listening to music until it got too bad and we had to retreat inside. We had a couple of breaks in the rain, when people would go off to mommom and poppop's. Jonas ran over to Bingo in the rain too. But Ben and I pretty much just stayed here. We did go to an acoustic concert at the pavilion later that evening. It was fun, but we were nearly the only people there, so I felt like I could never leave. :)
Before the rain was good though. We headed to the pool early, swam for a bit, then came home, ran out to the store (sans kiddos), grabbed supplies, and then went to MJ and dad's for crabbies. Woohoo! I LOVE sitting and eating crabs. I know that looking back, I'm not going to like that I wrote that. But it's true. It's just this childhood, ingrained love for the feeling of sitting around a table picking crabs with my family.
