Acadia day!!!! Okay, the excitement in the first sentence may have been a bit misleading. While I was THAT excited to go there and show the kids the beautiful national park, our actual experience fell far short of majestic. First, we got lost on our way there, so of course Ben was a pissy, angry, growly mess. And when we finally did find the visitors center, it only got worse. Literally MORE packed than I’ve ever seen it. I thought summers were bad there, but GD. It was overflowing with tour busses and cars. We hardly found a space in the enormous parking lot! We got up to the actual building and there was a line out the door to purchase passes. Thankfully, we already had our pass, but still. We could barely squeeze ourselves into the visitor center. In years past, we’ve been able to walk around, read about the park, and get maps, but today was just run in, use the bathroom, run out. The loop around the park was a little better, but some of the stops were so crowded that we just skipped them altogether. It was tough and definitely made us feel pretty bummed about the whole thing. Two hours up and two hours back is no joke and it kind of felt like we wasted the whole day on a less-than-awesome experience.

One cool highlight from the day is that we met a famous actor in the parking lot of the pizza place we went to on the way home!! It was super cool. We watch Brooklyn 99 every single night with the big kids at home and who do we see but KEVIN from the 99!!!! He was really sweet to stop his car, jump out, talk to us for a minute, and let us take a picture of him. He had like 8 pizzas and I know people were waiting for him to get wherever he was going. Definitely a great celebrity experience for us!
