Jenny came over this morning and I had such a great time visiting with her! I’ve been feeling pretty bummed, but the hangout definitely cheered me up a bit. I think it’s important for me to get regular time with my friends, but I rarely make the space for it. Day time is always so busy with school, and co-ops, and field trips, and errands and then it feels like several evenings are full of obligations too (although it’s really only two of them), so I find myself feeling too busy to schedule time with my friends. And it’s sad because those times are so life giving to me…so much more than any group activity, which are just draining, as necessary as they may be sometimes. I think I should make it a goal to get more friend time happening in my life again. I used to see Brit weekly, and now I’m lucky if I see her monthly. I used to hang out with Anne at least a couple of times a month, and I never get time like that anymore. I never see Jen or Terracina or Christine or Kylienne…or anyone! I need to do better for myself.

The girls were putting on makeup and getting all dressed up this afternoon, so Ben suggested a photo shoot. I dragged myself off the couch and got them out the door in search of local cherry blossom trees. There is this Japanese company in Dublin that has a ton of them on their property and invites people to come and enjoy them, so we headed there. Sadly, the trees have not bloomed yet. I thought that since the ones in D.C. had already bloomed that these ones would have too, but no! Everyone got really sad, so we went over to Indian Run Falls to take pictures in front of their barn/cabin on the property. Ruby foolishly took her sweatshirt off, stood for two photos and RAN back to the car. We were outside for two minutes and everyone was freezing. :) Great photo shoot!! hahaha
