Such a nice, relaxing day! After getting lots of organizing and planning done last night, I feel much more calm and like life is doable again. I've been so darn stressed! We had a chill morning, then I picked Jonas up from Max's house. He said he had an awesome time at the sleepover. Sounds like a really late night and tons of junk food and video games, but that's what sleepovers are for, right??
Once I dropped him off at home, Ben and I went out on a date. First, we went to this Latin restaurant called Cilantro. The menu seemed AMAZING. Like, insane. But we were shown to our seats and then completely ignored for 20 minutes, so we ended up leaving. Nobody even noticed us get up and walk out the door. I'm sure they realized it when there was an empty table with menus sitting on it! It's a bummer. That place looked really good. We'll try again another time. We ended up going to La Casita instead, where we had prompt and attentive service, along with delicious food. After that, we headed to Morris Home Furnishings and tried out a bunch of new couches. The thing is, we don't have enough seating in our den for everyone to have a comfortable spot when we have company. Especially when dad and MJ are over for a week or two and Ben is completely displaced from "his seat" for that entire time. I want furniture for 8 people. Our big gray couch is just too darn big for the space and, since there's only three cushions, it still feels like just a 3-person couch...despite its enormous footprint! I also hate having the half loveseat thing in there. It just annoys me. It served its purpose, but now it's time to move on. Ben and I talked about how we're going to afford it for a long time, but, in reality, we just can't without using credit. He doesn't like it, but they'll give us 0% financing for 5 years. We can't really beat that. And the prices aren't bad. We picked a set that we really like! When we got home, we took all of the furniture out of the den and taped out where/how the new set would fit. It seems like it'll work well! But we'll have to see if we actually pull the trigger. I have this sneaking suspicion that we won't!
