Today felt very busy again! We woke up and headed out to our Wild & Free autumn party. I stayed up late last night and made more witch's fingers, so I brought those and made some lunch to bring too. We left a few minutes late, but then I also went to the wrong park. *face palm* I realized it when we got there and it was abandoned at our meeting spot. 😅 It took another 25 minutes to get to where the car's directions sent us...after 10 minutes of construction traffic. But, conveniently, the map sent us to the wrong place! We were in a neighborhood behind the park. So, we turned around, went back through the traffic and finally got to the park 15 minutes later. We were a whole 50 minutes late to the party!!! I was very frustrated and it took me a while to cool down. Thankfully, I love that group so much and got to chat with my friends and was feeling really good before too long. Everyone brought wonderful snacks and there were fun activities. Friends brought awesome seeds to share, which was super exciting for me, Ollie and Ruby. We sat harvesting seeds for like 45 minutes. :) Clem ended up hurting herself pretty badly and we left a little sooner than I would have liked. I figured we'd be among the last to leave, since we got there so late, but it was a no go because she could not stop crying. I'm skeptical that it was really worth all of that hullabaloo. When she doesn't feel like she's getting sufficient attention, she tends to ramp up the drama. And I get it! I really do. But at the same time, it only makes me frustrated with her, so then neither of us is getting what we want. *sigh* I really hope nothing is seriously wrong with her. It was still hurting by the end of the day, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it was right after it happened.
Me and the kids popped on some music and spent hours cleaning in the afternoon. It was so good! For once, none of us got mad or bickered with each other. I think it was the music that kept us all happy. Ben had to work late, then I made some dinner, then we demolished the perfectly clean dining room and kitchen while carving pumpkins! I was feeling pretty exhausted and very, very upset about things getting re-dirty after I spent so much time cleaning, but the pumpkins turned out well and the kids had such a great time...especially Ollie!
