Today was a busy day, but not bad. We started school at home in the morning, then I packed work up for Ruby and Ollie and we all went to the Hilliard Library for Jonas and Clem's speech club. It was actually pretty fun to get a change of scenery and do our work somewhere else. The girls did great with it and neither Jonas nor Clem complained about speech club too much, although Clem did say that people laughed at her and that made her really mad. Jonas tried to tell her that nobody was laughing at her, but it can be hard to believe that when you feel like that's what happened!
We rushed out of the library, grabbed some smoothies for lunch, then went to Gracie Barra for Jonas's noon class that he loves so much. He had a great time and some really good matches. I feel like he fought a little dirty, honestly, but I guess he was just trying to use his weight to his advantage against a much more athletic sparring partner. I'm hoping he doesn't use that move too much, though, because I could see him being talked to about it eventually. That isn't the move in the pic! Basically, he kept trying to put all of his weight on his opponent's stomach through his arms over and over again, knocking the wind out of his opponent. I did get to talk to Marcella for a while about gardening, which was fun.
I had an hour and a half or so at home before taking Ruby and Clem to carol choir. While they were there, I relaxed, read my book, and did laundry. Not bad! Ben went to pick them up while I made dinner and then we went to small group at Meadow Park. The kids were SO EXCITED. And it was actually a really nice time. The kids all had a great time together and the study was...meh, but the company was great! Ben gets so weird, though. Like, he's never experienced a Bible study where nobody knows wtf they're talking about, so he's like frustrated and disgusted the whole time and stays stock still and silent. I don't know if it's judging? Or just righteous anger and someone leading a Bible study who doesn't seem to know what he's talking about? I have no idea. He wanted to be there, though! He asked to go and I think he ultimately had a good time. I wish he could loosen up a little bit and stop being so judgmental. Not everyone accepts Christ and then only ever goes to Dwell, where everyone already happens to know everything about God and the Bible from the get go! *sigh*
