October 1, 2022 - Saturday

Well, last night went horribly. Ollie was asleep when I went to bed, and I had just dozed off when she started fussing. Ben came in and fell asleep nearly instantly and I listened to Ollie's whining getting more and more intense. Around midnight, she started screaming, so I got up to try and calm her down and ended up bringing her into my cot with me. From midnight until 3AM, we did the cot thing, with me laying directly on my arm (it actually became dead, and black, and fell off the next morning) and Ollie getting pissed off at me for taking up all of her space. Lots of fun. I might have gotten a few minutes of fitful sleep here and there but was largely awake for all of it. After that, she finally asked to go back to her bed and slept until 6:40. She woke everyone else up by 7AM and that was the end of sleep! A whole 3 hours and 40 minutes. 

Beyond the sleep, there's the real issue of WHY she didn't sleep well and it's because she is much more sick. She was feverish last night and warm throughout the day today. She seemed miserable. Coughing, sneezing, runny nose, still lethargic, freezing cold, still wouldn't eat.

Today would have been the REALLY fun day camping. People hiked, all of my friends were there, the kids had on their matching shirts, we had plenty of delicious food to eat, and on and on. BUT. It was not a fun day for me, because I was worried about Ollie the whole time and ended up taking her home around 1:30. She was so tired and so sick, there was just no way we were going to keep her at the campground for another night. And, really, she needed a good nap. So I packed up what I could and took her home. She slept for over TWO HOURS when we got here, while I cleaned a little, unpacked a little, and tried to relax. She only wanted to snuggle once she did wake up and barely ate anything for dinner. We both went to bed at 8:30PM! We'll see how tonight goes.
