Oh my gosh, I was in the worst mood today. I felt like I was dragging from the moment I woke up and went through the day feeling half asleep. Ollie did a great job going to school today and, while she was there, I ran to Goodwill to try and find some fabrics for Halloween costumes and clothes for Jonas to be a scarecrow in this evening's photo shoot. I got scarecrow stuff (yay!), but had very limited success with fabrics. Also, nothing was less expensive than $4.80, which is just like...wtf?? I could get brand new fabric from JoAnn's for less than that. I came home and read for a while, then went through my fabric stash in the basement. I managed to piece together probably 85% of the fabrics I need for the Sanderson Sisters costumes! I'm hoping to run to JoAnn's tomorrow to try and find the rest. I guess I need to look for Saka stuff too. 🙄
I went to visit Anne and Ezra at the hospital and, man, I had no idea (although it makes perfect sense) that they were at Nationwide! SUCH a long drive. I stopped and grabbed some lunch and coffee for Anne on the way, and Ben watched Ollie while working. So thankful he was willing to do that! It's super complicated finding parking and then getting around in the hospital. That part took over 20 minutes alone. BUT, despite the time and effort, I'm super glad I went and spent some time visiting with Anne. I also held Ezra until he fell asleep and, not having little ones anymore, that's just not something I get to do every day. It was very sweet. Frustratingly for Anne, not much has happened so far. She's been there for a day and a half and all they've really done is observe feedings and take some blood. Like, Ezra needs to be inpatient for that?? He's also not on the GI floor like he's supposed to be. They put him in overflow in the behavioral unit and she is feeling very irritated about that. They had "reservations", basically, and were told that there would be a spot for him, but now she's sleeping on a narrow, sloping, short couch that doesn't even pull out, right under an air vent, where she can't see the TV, in a unit that they don't belong in! She's hoping they'll move him soon.
I did our crow photoshoot with the kids this afternoon and it was a big ol' mess. 2/4 kids were crying about everything and I didn't get a single shot of everyone with eyes open and in character. I mean, it happens. I even had to use an Ollie from a different pic in the spider pictures, but it's harder when I have to search for 3 kids that look good to put into another picture. There are so many changes to be made to make this fit my vision, but it should be fun to work on! All of the kids loved getting their makeup put on though. That was def a pro of the spider shoot: no complicated clothing/hair and no makeup! I'm posting these just because they're the only pictures I took today. These are obvs not the shots I'm going to use for the final, but Jonas is crying in one of them because his feet hurt so...there's that.
