April 12, 2023 - Wednesday
I keep thinking it's later in the week than it is. It is only Wednesday, Josie! Ollie and I had a chill morning at home and then headed to a play date at Pingree. At first it was just me and Emily, then Caitlin came and Emily left, then Brit came, just as me and Caitlin were getting ready to go! It was a revolving door. :) But it was good. I have been harboring a little anger towards Caitlin, but we had some good conversation and I told her that it made me feel rejected that hardly anyone showed interest in the Easter brunch and she ended up apologizing for not communicating with us about it. I appreciated that. It still seems like common sense, but that's just me being judgmental and I'm going to let it go. When I've checked in with Ben about stuff, he's still in the same place he's been. We'll see how things progress.
I had to bring Ollie to the dermatologist today to look at her warts and they want to take a very gentle approach to treating them, since Ollie's skin is still so tender. She tried this inoculation approach today, where she numbed Ollie's finger and, like, stabbed the wart with a needle a bunch of times. I'm not really sure what that's going to do or how it could possibly work, but I'm open to trying anything! Ollie was SO brave. The shot really, really hurt, but she didn't cry or even flinch when they gave it to her. She actually didn't fuss at all until the doctor said she wanted her to come back in two weeks for another round. 😦 That's when Ollie started crying into my shoulder that she never, ever wants to have a shot in her warts ever again! I felt so awful. I'm really hoping it just starts to work and we don't have to go back, but she's getting little, tiny warts around her mouth and I cannot just allow them to continue to grow there.
After dinner, we took the kids to Rita's as a treat for Ollie, since she was so good at the doctor's. It was fun, messy, and sticky, and the weather was so, very perfect for it.
