We headed home pretty early this morning. I think we were both feeling ready to get back. I had kind of hoped to stop at some antique stores on the way home, but Ben was not up for it. We did stop at Target and grabbed some lunch once we were close to our house though. Woo! The drive home was smooth and fast, and we were so happy to see everyone!

After a couple of hours, Jonas and Clem left for home church and me, Ben, dad, and Marme took Ruby and Ollie to a Bring the Zoo to You event nearby. It was honestly my nightmare scenario. 😅 Hundreds of people crowding a tiny, little space with very few things to do. Not great! There were TWO animals at this event. This is what they call bringing the zoo to us?? Bringing two animals? Pretty wild. So we waited in line for that for a few minutes. Then the girls really wanted to get their faces painted and have balloon animals made! Alas, both extremely long lines had a person standing at the end of them with a sign saying that they were the last people allowed in line. The only other thing left to do was make huge bubbles and, even though it was really crowded, we did get to participate in that! Oh, there was also one toy at the park - kind of a swing that has three seats and goes around in a circle. There was a line about 20 kids long and it just wasn't worth it. So. That was that! At least we tried. That's the kind of situation I usually avoid because of exactly what happened, but I'm glad we did it anyway. I'm trying to break out of that kind of pessimistic mindset about public things.

We took the girls to Bob Evans for dinner and it was pretty yummy. A good day!
