Day 309 of my 365 Photo Journal

I think I mentioned that house that Anne told us about the other day and we went to see it today. Unfortunately, the house is a bit of a wreck. There are so many great things about it: the neighborhood, the proximity to our friends and our church, proximity to a park and a rec center, cool design, great light, lots of space, huge lot. There are really terrible things about it too: outdated, SO outdated, kitchen appliances that are so old they likely are not working, potential updates needed on the outside of the house, TIMING. It kind of feels like the timing part is the worst part. I'm usually up for an adventure (and that's definitely what this house would be!) and would probably be with this house, but Ben is not in a mental place that makes him feel like partaking in any adventure whatsoever, not that he's normally up for too many risky adventures! We both agree, though, that the house is a trash and junk filled disaster that would require tons of updates and that $365k is probably a bit more than we are willing to spend for a home that needs that much work. There are three other houses in that same neighborhood, right around that same price, that are fully updated and look like they're in great shape. Granted, they don't have that kind of acreage and they aren't unique and fun, but they're move-in ready. So, sadly, the house is a no for us. We kind of rushed on this one because it was for sale by owner and we wouldn't be getting into bidding wars with other buyers and all that other garbage. It felt like a great opportunity to bypass that whole mess, even if it did change our timeline by 7 months or something. I'm feeling sad about it, for sure. Once I get something in my head, it's hard to get it out. But I will put my efforts to updating my own home and we'll see where we are heading, as far as moving or not, in the spring!

Ollie did great with the potty today, again. She did have ANOTHER poop accident (she had one yesterday too), but poop can be harder to get the hang of, since it typically only happens once a day. She seems to have a tough time knowing when it's going to happen. But she did stay clean and dry the whole time we were out, which I was so grateful for!

Ben leaves for DE tomorrow. I'm really sad that he's going, but he needs to be there. I'm just praying that his drive goes well and his visits go as well as possible. Praying God really moves in Ben's mom!

Sadly, I did not take pictures again today. Pulling from some of the old ones that I've been going through again. Including two pictures from a two summers ago of Ben being awesome.
