May 13, 2023 - Saturday

Today would have been a perfect day to sleep in, but alas, I did not get to! I was up really late last night, just hanging out with Ben. We haven't had a weekend night alone together in a long time. And Jonas was at Aveen's so we really had a couple of hours to just hang out alone. It was nice! 

I had hoped to spend the entire day outside, getting stuff done, but it was rainy. Instead, I got to relax and get stuff done inside. Not bad!! We spent a couple of hours with the Albinos midday and then had dinner with Popescos. Super fun hangouts! The latter more than the former. 😅

Ben ended up roping us into a game night with the Albinos too, which I was a little annoyed about. When he explained why, I did get it. We won't be able to do it next weekend or the weekend after OR the weekend after that! So it's good that we got over there, but I definitely did not feel like doing it. The game was fun and the conversation was decent. Ben and I have had inklings that they might be conspiracy theorists, but tonight definitely confirmed it. I mean, Ashley was WORKED UP talking about the COVID vaccine (and other vaccines). She has some valid reasons to feel angry about it, but she was saying some crazy stuff. Ben and I were just both trying to navigate the conversation as delicately as we could. We feel very differently about things than her and Kwin, but that doesn't have to change anything about our relationship with them. We'll probably just try to avoid those kinds of conversations. If we get stuck in them, we'll respectfully disagree. 🤷 It was a little wild though!
