Ollie, man. She has been something else lately. Just crying and whining and fighting ALL DAY LONG. Today was just more of the same. She fought me about going to school this morning, whined about wanting me to get her Starbucks on the way to her play date. She actually did good at the play date, which was very surprising, but she did terrible in ballet today! She didn't try at all. She normally follows instructions and tries to stay with the song, but today she just played around, didn't do any of the moves, and generally sulked her way through class. After class was the icing on the cake for the day. We were walking out and I stopped to chat with the other Dwell mom in the class. While I was talking, Ollie ran out the door. I quickly finished my conversation and went out to find her. I expected her to be just outside the door, waiting for me. But no. She was on the freaking playground! Thankfully Brittany and Shannon were still there, so I felt a little better about that, but that freaking girl ran all the way to the playground without me and without permission. I really had to rein in my temper at that moment. I grabbed her hand and told her that because she ran away from me, we were going home. She sassily said, "Oh, without my water??" She just has so much attitude lately!

Despite Ollie being way to awful, today was a good day. I got some work done, but the HIGHLIGHT of my day was that I finished the lighting and the last floorboards on the deck!!! I am so proud of myself, honestly. Maybe I shouldn't be, since we finished 90% of the deck two years ago, but I have pushed and worked hard to get this project done and did a lot of it by myself. It looks so good and it's going to be such a nice space for us to spend time on.

Ben must have caught whatever bug Ollie had today (or vice versa) because he was a complete ass when he got home from work. He was super pissed at the kids for acting like kids and making kid messes and could not let it go.

I also went to book club with Rachel tonight and I actually had fun for once! We discussed the book, I brought up spiritual questions that nobody answered, and I ate banana pudding. Not a bad night!
