Okay, so THIS was my last day working at CT. Again, bittersweet. One of my volunteers came up and told me, "You know, this CT has a reputation of having the best Oasis. It's important, so I wanted you to know that. You've done really good work here." I really appreciated her saying that. It's been a good job. It hasn't always been what I wanted, but good, nonetheless. I only stayed for a little while, because Ben and Clem were both home struggling with some weird stomach bug symptoms. Had to rush home so I could catch it too!!! Woo!
I know I did something else productive today after CT. I cleaned a bunch of shoes that have been sitting in a bucket, waiting to be cleaned so they could be passed down to the next child. That always takes forever and I put it off for SO long. We also put up the light fixture in the bathroom, which was such an epically bad fail that I'm questioning my ability to do any simple thing at this point. Dude. It's just so messed up. First, we didn't realize that my dad had installed the housing crooked, so we just went ahead with the beginning stages of installation. Once we realized the housing was crooked and tried to take out the screws on the metal installation plate, the screws all stripped and became impossible to remove. Wow. Just...wow. So, then we try to switch gears and figure out a different way for this to still work. We got more screws and nuts and figured out how to hang the light fixture on them, but when we tested it, it didn't work! So we redid the wiring and it didn't work again. :( THEN, I hung up the light fixture anyway, because I thought maybe dad didn't finish connecting the wiring. But the light fixture is now just jankily dangling from the wall because our out-of-the-box fix didn't actually work at all and it looks like complete garbage. So................that was a complete waste of time. And now I get to be embarrassed when dad comes and sees what a horrible job I did on the light fixture and has to go back and fix all of my numerous mistakes!
