November 8, 2024 - Friday

I have had such a crazy, busy week! Every day has been a morning of school or co-op and then a super full afternoon of working in the bathroom. Dad and MJ leave tomorrow and we are not quite done, but I should be able to do the rest myself. I just have to have a little self-confidence! In short supply lately. Anyway, all that's left is the tile grout, the transition strip, some trim in the hallway, and painting. I have not taken any pictures of my life in days until tonight.

So, tonight was awesome! I was having some anxiety about going, for sure, but nothing compared to Ben. I mean, we might as well have been walking straight into the very pits of Hell, as crazy as he was acting. I kept offering to take Jonas alone, but he wouldn't have it and, THANK GOD, he calmed down when we got in! First, we got a parking spot right out front! Literally, five cars down from the venue. Absolute perfection! Then, we got into a relatively long line outside, which started moving within moments of us getting into it. Woo! I was encouraged to see a ton of adolescents around Jonas's age in line...along with lots of older folks, my age. :) Not exactly the coolest crowd! Although it did get more diverse and cooler as time went on. Apparently, parents with kids felt the need to get there as soon as the doors opened, whereas cooler people did not. *shrug* Who knows? We found a great spot against a counter along the wall, got a couple of drinks for us big kids, then only waited a short time for the bands to start. All three were awesome, the crowd was great, and we didn't have long wait times between bands. We DID have to leave early, thanks to Ben's stomach. He started getting bad cramps in the middle of the Five Iron Frenzy set, which was a bummer. But I couldn't force him to run to the nasty venue bathroom with the issues he was having, so we just headed out. Jonas was ok with it and I wasn't too mad either. All-in-all, a really great night!
