August 7, 2023 - Monday

I mean, I don't want to make too big a thing about this, but PMDD explains so damn much! It doesn't make it any better though. I'm really sad and hopeless feeling right now. Sleeping like crap, stuck in my head, losing my temper too quickly. I'm trying (and succeeding) to not take it out on the kids and, while I'm a bit shorter with them than usual, I haven't been yelling or making the days awful like I have in the past. I DID get out of the house a bit today and took Ollie for a walk around the neighborhood. Ben was sick last night and two kids were sick-feeling today, so we just took it easy, kept screens going all day, and skipped HC this evening. 

Oh, funny story. I was taking a walk with Ollie and we were on the next court over when a guy says, out of nowhere, "Hey, do you want to see some really big leaves?" hahaha ummmm...what? So I'm like, "Hi! What are you talking about?" And he proceeds to tell me about a banana tree he has in his backyard. I ask Ollie if she wants to look and, of course, she says yes. This house typically has a haunted garage that we visit every year for Halloween, so it's not like he's an absolute stranger, but I also don't know his name or anything. So we're walking into the backyard and I'm thinking like, am I walking to my death right now? What is about to happen? Anywho, it was an ENORMOUS banana tree in this guy's yard. He said it's 25 feet high and 25 feet around. Pretty crazy! He says it can't grow edible bananas, but it's still pretty cool and reminds him of being on vacation, which he says he never gets to take anymore. Weird invite out of nowhere, but I'm glad he asked us!
