January 18, 2024 - Thursday
What a week! I'm ready for it to be over, honestly. I'm thinking about just having the kids do a few independent things tomorrow and then calling it a day. We'll see!
I spent over an hour tonight going through emails and websites to finally get important dates and appointments into my physical calendar. It's crazy how so many things will fall on the same day. For example, we'll look at next week. I have nothing at all on Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday. NOTHING. But on TUESDAY! I have Nature Club, a 2:30 dental appt., CACH mom's night out and Rachel's book club both at the exact same time and ALSO at the exact same time that Ben meets with Alex, so I might not be able to do either. Crazy, right? The next Tuesday is similar. Nothing all week, but on Tuesday the 30th I have Nature Club, an eye appt., and a field trip in the afternoon. Why is everything happening on Tuesdays? Weird.
The day was fine. CACH co-op went well. The cooking class I'm a helper in was a lot of fun, but thank God I'm not in charge of it! It seems very stressful to get it all organized and prepped. My little dance class was a lot of fun, but I underestimated just how many dances those girls could do in such a short amount of time. I made it laid back and I think we all had fun, although the girls in my class generally didn't speak at all and stared at me like I was a crazy person. Hopefully they'll loosen up over time. I have lots of prep to do for the next class, but I'll put that off as long as I possibly can!
I'm going to try to read more non-fiction books. I have so many good ones. Like, I really do have great intentions. I love the descriptions of the books, the titles are great, I can see how they'd be relevant to my life, and I really want to absorb the information within the pages, BUT once I start reading them, I get incredibly bored and never finish them. I'm setting a loose goal for myself of one non-fiction per month. If I can do that, I'll be done the ones I have bought and waiting on my shelf within the next two years. Woo! That's if I don't buy anymore in the meantime, which I know I will.
