Last night was fun! We had communion, played Taboo, and talked for a while. It was a good time. Today was also good, and it was kind of a bummer to have to leave early. Last night was mostly fluff conversations, but today's conversations were a little deeper. I don't really want to put what we talked about into a post, but it was good. (Have I said good enough yet? Let's see if I can add it a few more times.)
Today, I actually slept in! And breakfast was so, incredibly delicious. We had a couple of great teachings and talked for a while, ate lunch, and then I got ready to head back to Columbus.
After I got home, I got all of the kids ready to go to their first concert!! We headed out to Winter Jam around 4:40 and ended up getting there an hour before the people we were supposed to meet. We saved seats for them, but it was pretty hard to save 10 extra seats. A very stressful 45 minutes! I thought the concert was awesome, but, predictably, Ben was uptight and unhappy for 90% of the time, bringing down everyone's mood. All of the girls had a hard time at one point or another. Clemi was originally sitting really far away from us and she got anxious and started crying. I was out in the hallway at the time and Ben couldn't calm her down, so he texted me more than 10 times telling me we needed to leave right then. I was talking to Erin (the woman whose family we met there) at the time and got super embarrassed that he was acting so crazy. He was sitting next to Ruby and he kept leaning over to whisper to me that Ruby needs to leave because she's so bored and unhappy. I switched seats with him and started dancing with Ruby and singing along and she cheered up instantly! It's just so evident that the mood of the parent really affects the mood of the child. She was happy for the rest of the time we were there. Ollie was antsy though. She wouldn't sit, she was mad at me for over half the time, and she kept wanting to run up and down the stadium stairs, which was just too risky for even me to allow. We left at 8pm...halfway through. We didn't see any of the bigger bands and I was really bummed about that, but Ben wouldn't stop saying we needed to leave, so I had to give in eventually.
