October 16, 2024 - Wednesday
It was a typical crazy Wednesday for us over here. Ben is FREAKING OUT about work and I am working harder at tuning him out, which is awful. But how many times can a woman listen to her husband have a panic attack over something "crazy" happening at work? It's been constantly crazy for him for weeks...months! He knows how sick of it I am, but he can't help himself.
We had a field trip to Orchard & Co. with CACH this morning. Always tons of fun there! They reserve the place for you when you book a field trip, so it's not crowded at all and you can take pictures without having to worry about getting everyone else's kids in them. We did lots of fun stuff and, while I felt guilty leaving Evie and JJ alone most of the day, it was good to give the kids that experience.
I got to hang out at home for one hour and then had to take Clem up to Westerville for her special choir with Ms. Kristen. Downside was driving 35 minutes to get there. Upside was getting to hang out with Brit while Clem practiced! I've missed her so much. After that practice, I drove home, grabbed Ruby, and dropped them off at their next choir practice. Ben wasn't feeling well, so we cancelled our dinner at my favorite restaurant and, instead, got pizza and stayed home. It was fine, but it just meant more quality time with Evie and JJ, the silent partners. The man won't speak. And it makes me so uncomfortable when the person I'm talking to isn't speaking that I end up over-sharing dumb shit! I told stupid anecdote after stupid anecdote. God help me. I need to learn to sit in silence.
I finally excused myself around 9:30, but I wished it was at 8. I almost cried when I realized I wouldn't even get to sit somewhere comfortable for the movie. Evie and JJ took my seat and slept the whole time! I wanted to be like, 'don't you want to just lay down in bed then????' but that would have been inappropriate. *sigh*
