Day 178 of my 365 Photo Journal

[Edited below] So...since I'm behind on this photo and don't have time to take another one, I'm using this one as my March picture in the same spot. I don't love it. I am getting so annoyed that I can't seem to get the same perspective I did in January, but whatever. There are 9 more months to get it right. Although I am starting to question how good an idea it was to choose this location...

I went to the dermatologist today and I do have rosacea. It's not a huge deal, really. It's my face, which makes it emotionally upsetting, but having red, bumpy skin isn't the worst thing in the world. It won't kill me or make me feel physically bad in any way so...I just have to do my best to treat it properly and accept that this is the way it is. My family still loves me exactly the same and it changes nothing regarding my value or my place in this world or the next.

Also, the house three houses down from ours is for sale! I'm excited to get some new neighbors and praying for a family to move in over there. Oh, how I wish, wish, wish, wish it would be friends of ours that would buy the house, but I know that's not going to happen. First, it's listed at 370k (like, wtf???) and second, it's 'all the way out here'. But still. Can't stop a girl from dreaming of built-in besties for her kids and herself, cul-de-sac hang outs/BBQs/playdates, and having partners in evangelism attempts right here next to me! But we knew that we'd be out here alone when we bought our house. It is a trek from church and our church's kind of target area. Still, I'm hoping for someone great to move in! 

Edited to add: It was April Fool's Day, so Ben and the kids came up with some pranks for me while I was at the doctor. When I got home, Clemi is standing there, guilty as all get out, saying over and over, "I'm so so so so sorry mom!" I start getting REAL suspicious, but go about my unpacking and whatnot. So, I get ready to sit down and eat lunch and Clem starts looking like she's about to cry. I sit down and...it's not my chair. 😂😂😂 She was having ALL THAT GUILT because they switched my chair with one of the bad ones! Then, I go to turn on my computer later and she starts freaking out again! LOLOL Ben changed my cover photo on the computer with a picture of the kids making silly faces at me. 😁 Jonas also pranked Ben twice: he turned on another shower while Ben was showering so that his water got cold...for like 10 seconds. He put a ton of books in Ben's pillowcase to find when he went to bed that night. 😂 I just love how innocent and fun all of their pranks were!

What a day! It literally rained from start to finish, but we packed as much into it as we possibly could! We had a great time visiting and hanging out. We had a fire and lots of great meals *brushes shoulder off*. The kids played well together and, as far as I know, there wasn't any drama! It was a bit exhausting, but I'm so glad that this retreat went well. Last year's was a bit of a bomb, with all the childcare drama happening behind the scenes. I feel like last year's retreat was a pre-cursor to our deciding to move away. Not that they actually had anything to do with one another, but they happened in such close succession that they seem related in retrospect. I drank a bit too much tonight and had a really fun time singing songs, while Tony played the guitar. Man, I wish I had talent with instruments!

November 9, 2025 - Sunday

This is my favorite picture from the whole shoot!! I love it.  We went to CT this morning and I actually got to sit in on the teaching! Woo! It feels like that doesn't happen very often. We hung out in the cafe with friends for a little bit, then went to Chipotle for lunch on the way home.  We spent most of the day just relaxing! I started a photo book for our Maine vaca in September, and tried to get caught up with some other stuff, but it was mostly just a chill day. Jonas and Clem went to group and we stayed home, chillin'. Ben and I got in the hot tub with Ruby and Ollie for a little while, which was fun. It was snowing while we were in there!

November 24, 2025 - Monday

Today was a very rough day for me. It's not like everything went wrong, I just really struggled to manage my emotions. I had to run out, first thing, to get my pick-up order because there were things in it that we needed for breakfast. Then, somehow, we didn't get school started until almost 9:30. I started with Ruby and Ollie, as usual, and decided to check in with Ollie while I was reading. Okay, related side note, Ruby can't stand it when I ask Ollie questions and not her. But the thing is, Ruby remembers EVERYTHING she hears. She learns super well by just plain old listening. If I ask her questions, she answers them correctly and I never get to gauge whether or not Ollie is learning. She also always blurts out answers because she's so afraid I won't give her an opportunity to show us all how much she is learning. And I get it! She wants praise and to show me that she's a good student and she's learning. I understand. But, because of her constant eagernes...
