April 4, 2024 - Thursday

I planned to leave this morning at 11 so that I wouldn’t hold Claire up too much, but with one thing and another, I didn’t leave until like 11:45. And then I cried so much on the drive that I missed the exit to 71 south and wanted to KICK myself for wasting more stinking time! It was fine though. I got there in time to register and make it to the first talk. Me and Claire ended up being together for the whole day. When it was dinner break, we walked over to a little Italian restaurant that had great reviews. Of course, it was the MOST expensive restaurant ever and I had already offered to pay for her, since she covered the room! Thankfully, she was tactfully sensitive to that, so we split a meal, appetizers, and bread. It was really delicious, and our server was a lot of fun…although very chatty. ðŸ˜… We went back to the conference for some shopping and to hear the last talk and, man, I had no idea what I was in for!

I thought we were going to be talking about raising Christian homeschoolers in this last talk, but what it focused on was (boiling down significantly here) teaching your kids to act like Trump-ers. I mean, there was fist pumping, dozens of men yelling “YES!!!” every time the guy mocked people who wore masks, and lots of talk about teaching boys to be men, not little pansy rule followers. I actually left early. Not a fan of that kind of nonsense! And it helped me pare down my options for the next day…anything from this guy or his wife! I hear they’re the nicest people you’ll ever meet though. ðŸ™„ I saw lots of CACH people here! Ellie and husband, Lauren, Christina, and Sarah and all of their husbands! Super fun. Oh, I also saw Jenny Detloff when I was checking in!

Bed time was a little weird. We watched a movie and are now trying to sleep! It’s been hours since we shut things down at midnight.
