Today was crazy. We got up at 4:30am and headed out by 4:45am. We drove to the airport and got the car dropped off and checked in pretty quickly. We had to go through two security checks, including a USDA screen, plus we had additional security stuff that we didn't have in the U.S., which was a little time consuming and frustrating. We got through it all though, with plenty of time to spare! We eventually boarded our first flight, on time, and the kids did great again. Our first layover was in Miami and that was a couple hours long. We went and got some lunch at a couple of different airport restaurants, which worked well...even though with the time difference it was only 9:45am when we started our "lunch". 😅 We were all starving though! We got on our next flight, then found out we were being delayed from takeoff because the stinking president was at the airport. It set us back 20 minutes and we already had a SUPER short window of time to get to our next flight. We spent the next hour and a half anxiously waiting to see if we'd make it to our next flight or not. Originally, we were going to arrive in the same terminal as our next flight departed from, but they changed it. :( :( When we got off the plane, WE RAN. Ben ran ahead to let the airplane people know we were coming! When we got there, the whole flight was boarded and they were just holding off on closing things up for us. It wasn't terrible and we MADE IT! It would have been such a mess if we hadn't.

When we landed, we went straight to baggage claim, where Ollie fell and bonked her head, causing a ruckus. A police officer and a small group of people all came over to see if they could help. It was so kind of them all, but of course she was just entirely humiliated and wouldn't talk at all. I turned down everyone's help and sat on the floor with her for a while, until she calmed down. We also found out that one of our suitcases (that we were urged to check) was missing. We had weighed the risks when we decided to check. We had the thought that if we needed to run to the one flight (which we did) it would be a lot easier without baggage (which it was). No regrets! But we hope our suitcase is found.

We got our car out of long-term parking, grabbed some fast food, and were home!!! Being on my own couch in my own home was sweeter feeling than it has ever been before. Pure happiness right now!
