January 7, 2025 - Tuesday

I did not feel like it, but I brought the kids sledding at Highbanks this morning with Wild & Free. It was sooooo coooollllddd! Like 20 degrees-ish. Jonas decided to stay home, which honestly pissed me off. Like, you're 13. Why wouldn't you want to go out sledding??? Wtf are you going to do with no screens at home for the next three hours? Unfortunately, when he first asked if he could stay home, it caught me off guard and I just said ookkkk. It took me a few minutes to become outraged. :) But sledding was fine. We were there for a little over an hour. Clem and Ruby had a blast. Ollie hid in the car crying for 50 minutes of the time. She was too scared to go on the big hill, but felt like it would make her a baby if she went to the small hill. It was such prideful nonsense that I couldn't even feel bad for her. Most of the kids were overwhelmed by how big the big hill was and almost all of the big kids moved over to the smaller hill. Nobody would have thought that about her at all. It was just such insanity and I was so over it. After 15 minutes or so, I told her I was done checking on her and she could join us when she was ready. That took her 35 more minutes. Stubborn! And then she had so much fun sledding on the small hill with everyone else. Too bad she wasted almost all of her time having a tantrum! 

I'm doing slightly better today, emotionally, but certainly not wanting to have any parts of any of my responsibilities right now. Ruby earned herself an early bed time for not doing what I asked. I did explain to them that, for now, I'm done counting. They act like jerks for 1s and 2s and then finally give in and do what they're supposed to so they don't get 3s. I shouldn't even have to count that high for kids this old. Do what you're supposed to do when you're supposed to do it. Or suffer. Mwa ha ha.
