Photo Journal - Josie Boettcher

Today was a good Monday. I stayed home from HC because Clemi was "sick", but it gave me extra time to get things prepped around the house. The yard is done, the painting is done, but I still have a lot of stuff to order. I'm getting excited! If it rains on Friday, I am going to be SO SO sad. 

It was Ollie's last day of preschool today!! Clem was still home with me, since she had a "fever" yesterday 😏, so after we got Ollie from school we went over to the library for a bit. We even went to Once Upon a Child for a mini shopping spree! My intentions were good, but it turned into an absolute sh!t show by the time we were done. Holy moly. These kids.  Lots of party prep going on over here! And my parents will be here tomorrow, so I've been cleaning like crazy. All of my bathrooms that have been ignored for the last month are sparkling clean. :)

It's my 11th Mother's Day. Crazy! I've celebrated this day a lot of different ways over the years. We've gone out, stayed in, been dressed up, and stayed in jammies all day. I've felt ignored and felt super appreciated. Some years I try and do a photo shoot and most years I go the whole day without taking a single picture. I ALWAYS end up getting nice gifts though, thanks to Benny. 😄(You can see one of my gifts in this picture!) This was a good Mother's Day in some ways, but in other ways I was just stuck doing things I didn't want to do...like working at church.  I got up early and went to work. It was a pretty rough day, Oasis-wise. We were missing quite a few volunteers, especially in the TNT/JAM area. The baby room was short two volunteers and one of the ones in there, Lisa, is not in good health, so Anne was in there the entire time. On the upside, I had several people stop by to tell me they want to volunteer! Whew! It's really coming down to the ...

Today would have been a perfect day to sleep in, but alas, I did not get to! I was up really late last night, just hanging out with Ben. We haven't had a weekend night alone together in a long time. And Jonas was at Aveen's so we really had a couple of hours to just hang out alone. It was nice!  I had hoped to spend the entire day outside, getting stuff done, but it was rainy. Instead, I got to relax and get stuff done inside. Not bad!! We spent a couple of hours with the Albinos midday and then had dinner with Popescos. Super fun hangouts! The latter more than the former. 😅 Ben ended up roping us into a game night with the Albinos too, which I was a little annoyed about. When he explained why, I did get it. We won't be able to do it next weekend or the weekend after OR the weekend after that! So it's good that we got over there, but I definitely did not feel like doing it. Today was a busy day. Fridays typically are! Honestly though, as much as I don't like driving the girls to and from school, it is nice to have slower mornings. We don't have to leave the house until 8:40 now, compared to 8:10. It's a big difference! After I dropped them off, we headed to Jenny's and hung out for a bit. Ollie was excited that Millie is home from school now. I just hope she doesn't ignore Andrei for Millie, because her and Andrei have been so cute together lately! After that, we picked up the bags and came home.  I worked for a bit and then realized that Ollie was already late for gymnastics. We ran over there as fast as I could get us there and Ollie finished class while I continued to work in the lobby. We got home and I...worked some more. Today wasn't quite as exhilarating as yesterday. I did get a lot of good stuff done, but it didn't feel like as big of a productive day as yesterday. I stayed home all day again today and did lots of work. Well, I had to do the drop off and pick up for pre-k, but while she was there, I got the oil changed and did a quick Dollar Store run. I have to decorate Ollie's teacher's door on Monday, so I got decorations for that and found some fun neon stuff for the party. I did my Target pick up, then came home and worked.  After I got Ollie, I cleaned out the garage. Like a clean out, clean out. It looks so nice and organized now! I also got some new lightbulbs in the garage door light, which has been out for a month or so. It took a long time, but it's done and I'm glad. I did some more work after that, then went outside and continued weeding and mulching (after grabbing the girls from school).  It's pizza and movie night, so we turned on the new Peter Pan movie, ...

Well, I'm a liar. I woke up thinking that I'd have the whole day at home and then realized I had an Oasis staff meeting. I was already in the mindset of doing productive things at home and didn't want my day ruined, so I lied and said that I had a sick kid and couldn't make it. Nobody ended up responding all day! They hate me now. I know it. BUT. They can just fire me and it would be a relief. So. I did end up doing A LOT at home today. I painted the ombre on the steps and it looks GREAT and I weeded and mulched and that looks AMAZING. AND AND AND I painted our cornhole boards and they are so freaking awesome looking! So, I'm good with the lie because today's progress was totally worth it. Sorry God. I'm still a sinner. I did a little bit of paid work, but I spent over 7 hours outside. And you know what? It felt really darn good.
