February 28, 2026 - Saturday



I can't believe I had to do it, but I texted the Browns to let them know that a few of us have colds again. So annoying! And frustrating! It felt awful to cancel on them again. We ended up not doing too much. I went on a date with Jonas to Polaris that took up most of the day, it felt like. We were there to get him new Crocs, but we ended up shopping at lots of different stores and got food too. It was comfortable and fun to hang out with him. I just wish Tuttle wasn't such a lost cause nowadays! I would have loved to have that same date, but closer to home. 

In the afternoon, Ruby and I went out for a bit. She really wanted to get ice cream, which made it pretty easy. I always feel like I need to match dates, if that makes sense. Like, Jonas got several hours and a trip to the mall, so it feels like Ruby should get the same. But she literally just wanted ice cream. So we went to DQ and pigged out for a bit, then headed back home. I tried to explain what I read in the book this month to her, but it was a little over her head. Not a terrible day, all-in-all!

*I forgot to mention yesterday that I took Ollie to the doc for her infected earring holes. She had HUGE, blueberry-sized pus bubbles on the backs of both earlobes for weeks and they kept bursting and then refilling with pus and blood again. I finally took her in because it just wasn't going away. It turns out she's allergic to stainless steel. *shrug* They said I should get her platinum earrings!!! $$$$$$$

What a day! It literally rained from start to finish, but we packed as much into it as we possibly could! We had a great time visiting and hanging out. We had a fire and lots of great meals *brushes shoulder off*. The kids played well together and, as far as I know, there wasn't any drama! It was a bit exhausting, but I'm so glad that this retreat went well. Last year's was a bit of a bomb, with all the childcare drama happening behind the scenes. I feel like last year's retreat was a pre-cursor to our deciding to move away. Not that they actually had anything to do with one another, but they happened in such close succession that they seem related in retrospect. I drank a bit too much tonight and had a really fun time singing songs, while Tony played the guitar. Man, I wish I had talent with instruments!

November 9, 2025 - Sunday

This is my favorite picture from the whole shoot!! I love it.  We went to CT this morning and I actually got to sit in on the teaching! Woo! It feels like that doesn't happen very often. We hung out in the cafe with friends for a little bit, then went to Chipotle for lunch on the way home.  We spent most of the day just relaxing! I started a photo book for our Maine vaca in September, and tried to get caught up with some other stuff, but it was mostly just a chill day. Jonas and Clem went to group and we stayed home, chillin'. Ben and I got in the hot tub with Ruby and Ollie for a little while, which was fun. It was snowing while we were in there!

January 18, 2026 - Sunday

Ben and I drove separately to CT today because he needed to be home by 11:40 to get together with Jason and drive to Travis's to play MtG! I'm glad he got to hang out with his friends and it gave me a little more freedom to not rush after CT. Of course, Jonas was ready to get out of dodge, but I made him wait! I ended up talking to Julie O'Donovan for about 20 minutes after CT, getting more information about the new Hilliard bush group that she's hosting. I don't know. It really could be the answer to all of my prayers over the years. It would be so good to have a group that's close to home that I could invite neighbors to! It would be even cooler if we were hosting, since we've had a couple of people who said they'd "come every week if it were at your house!" to us over the years. Just a lot of things to be praying for with these groups! I don't want to leave my friends, but I do want to be in a better position for evangelism with friends ...
