March 2, 2026 - Monday


Oh my gosh...SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had no idea! And, normally, I would not be so excited about it, BUT the snow this morning meant that Lighthouse was cancelled for Jonas! Woo! And it was my turn to drive him and Jack there, so it was nice to get a reprieve. And...BIG NEWS...Ben and I decided to sign Ollie up for jiu-jitsu! There are a few reasons, but the main one is that she doesn't have any activities that she does without her sisters. She won't even do VBS or camps because she wouldn't be placed in the same groups as her sisters. We think it's time for her to branch out and make some friends on her own! Or at least to experience some things on her own. Jonas obvs does BJJ too, but he won't be in any classes with her typically, since he trains with adults. I think it'll be a good fit! And today was her VERY FIRST CLASS! Woo!!! She was the only student there because they just started this new time slot for home schooled students. :) It worked great for her! The instructor asked Jonas to join so that she wouldn't be alone and he did a good job helping out and demonstrating different positions. Ollie said she really, really liked it and wants to go again tomorrow! I'm excited for her and proud of her for trying something new.

After BJJ, we ate a quick lunch and then headed to an indoor gym time with the Meadow Park small group homeschooling moms. Ollie and Jonas were sweaty and tired, so they stayed home. Clem and Ruby had a lot of fun though! After we got back from that, I was pretty pooped and was just not in the mood to go to HC. I'm just not into being even more busy and driving all over the world right now. It's just too dang much for me lately. Ben took Jonas to an evening class at the gym and I finally got to wind down and chill out at home.

What a day! It literally rained from start to finish, but we packed as much into it as we possibly could! We had a great time visiting and hanging out. We had a fire and lots of great meals *brushes shoulder off*. The kids played well together and, as far as I know, there wasn't any drama! It was a bit exhausting, but I'm so glad that this retreat went well. Last year's was a bit of a bomb, with all the childcare drama happening behind the scenes. I feel like last year's retreat was a pre-cursor to our deciding to move away. Not that they actually had anything to do with one another, but they happened in such close succession that they seem related in retrospect. I drank a bit too much tonight and had a really fun time singing songs, while Tony played the guitar. Man, I wish I had talent with instruments!

November 9, 2025 - Sunday

This is my favorite picture from the whole shoot!! I love it.  We went to CT this morning and I actually got to sit in on the teaching! Woo! It feels like that doesn't happen very often. We hung out in the cafe with friends for a little bit, then went to Chipotle for lunch on the way home.  We spent most of the day just relaxing! I started a photo book for our Maine vaca in September, and tried to get caught up with some other stuff, but it was mostly just a chill day. Jonas and Clem went to group and we stayed home, chillin'. Ben and I got in the hot tub with Ruby and Ollie for a little while, which was fun. It was snowing while we were in there!

January 18, 2026 - Sunday

Ben and I drove separately to CT today because he needed to be home by 11:40 to get together with Jason and drive to Travis's to play MtG! I'm glad he got to hang out with his friends and it gave me a little more freedom to not rush after CT. Of course, Jonas was ready to get out of dodge, but I made him wait! I ended up talking to Julie O'Donovan for about 20 minutes after CT, getting more information about the new Hilliard bush group that she's hosting. I don't know. It really could be the answer to all of my prayers over the years. It would be so good to have a group that's close to home that I could invite neighbors to! It would be even cooler if we were hosting, since we've had a couple of people who said they'd "come every week if it were at your house!" to us over the years. Just a lot of things to be praying for with these groups! I don't want to leave my friends, but I do want to be in a better position for evangelism with friends ...
